acitydweller It always astounds me how these little guys make such a small tank look so large in scale. so awesome!

somewhatshocked I use all kinds of substrates and my tanks have varying parameters. Though, all of that information is in my tank journals.
08-09-2012 02:53 PM
theremetony I like your CRS/CBS.

08-09-2012 02:51 PM
theremetony Yep the heater was never used.

I do not use CO2 since its not cheap and I've heard that it is hard to tweak to not-to-kill your shrimp :-)
For light I am using a coralife 24 inch 36 watt, providing medium-to-high light for a 10 gallon, sufficient for my low-light plants.
substrate is regular black sand, cheap and nothing fancy.
No ferts for plants. I tried to minimize the chemicals that I put in the tank.

I have some small driftwood in the tank and an almond leaf in the tank to lower the PH a little bit but I think the current PH is between 7.8 and 8.0. Ammonia and Nitrite is 0 and nitrate is around 20.

No measurement for KH/GH since I do not have the kit (I think somewhatshocked knows more about the tap water used in Lexington :-))

10% water change once every week using Lexington tap water and Dechlorinates

acmarauder It is a very nice tank, and this gives me some ideas for my new spec.

Any details on your setup like CO2, light (type and photoperiod), ferts (if any), etc...?
08-03-2012 03:06 AM
theremetony It's just a 10 gallon, nothing pro :-)

acmarauder Great pics, counting the days until I can get some shrimp for my new nano and seeing your pics and Jake's tank journals is making it unbearable! So nice to see knowledgeable shrimp keepers locally, really eases my mind.
