Tmobo Go somewhere with some dry creek beds. Maybe try George Winter park in Fenton or maybe take a walk around Creve Coeur lake?

rock hunting near St. Louis

I live in U City and am trying to find some interesting stones for a small iwagumi style setup in a 6g Fluval Edge aquarium. Brentwood Material has been a reliable supplier of larger stones for larger setups, but what I want is not found at commodity dealers. Where around here would you go rock hunting?

It would have to be:
- not limestone that seems to be everywhere around here, and
- a public space where grabbing a few small select stones would not be out of line.

If you have any online sources to recommend, I'd be willing to look there too, but finding your own can be fun, right?
