|Phil Edwards||Thank you for the welcome. They were a lot of work, but it's work I enjoy so they were worth it. Hoping to have the 60 gallon ready to put together in a couple weeks.|

|dj318||Hi, planters! I'm in Limestone County very near the Elk River. There are not too many planters around. I've been reading for a while and just now posting. I've learned a lot from all of you posters. Thanks a plenty!|

Another Birmingham/Tuscaloosa/Jasper area resident... I too have been hunting for a place to get fish and plants. My best luck so far has been Petsmart. www.edspetworld.com has been decent on fieh, and is close to our office (though I am a tech that spends most of my time not in the office.) Outside of that and Pet Supplies Plus littered about, pickings are slim. I hear Aquarium Imports is in behind the Outback in Hoover, but I guess I need somebody there to flag me down. I have looked all over it, and nothing.

|GreyPowerVan||Yeah I feel like there's not very many of us in Alabama. I'm over in Jacksonville but I go through Gadsden a lot. I actually am not so sure about Lang's Tropical Fish over in the Glencoe area, the place looks a little dirty and some of the fish looked like they were sick the time I went.|

Just moved to Montgomery and struggling to find something that resembles a LFS. starting a new 75 gallon tank which will become a low tech discus with anubias and driftwood. Would love to link up and chat with others in the area!

|Turxiat||Hey! Roll Tide! I'm in Talladega Co., not far from B'ham. Wanted to throw out Ed's Pet World in Homewood. Had a lot of luck with their huge fish selection, not really a plant store though. I get most of my plants from the aquariumplants website or from the FS section here.|

|curtwsp||Thanks Dolfan, since I'm waiting to set up my tank until we move. I've done so much research on this site.trying to prepare for my first NPT. I've just about done with my mts substrate. I think I'm going to go up to petco in Birmingham and buy most of my plants. Even thought there dry grown. Unless some one else has a better solution.|

|Dolfan||Welcome to the plantedtank Curt. I'm in the Birmingham area and also have a 40 gallon breeder. I have cherry shrimp, neon tetras, a bristelnose pleco, few otos, and some Malaysian trumpet snails. As for plants I keep hornwort, frogbit, java moss, java fern, bacopa, water wisteria, and some rotala. The Alabama section doesn't get a whole of action but maybe we can get it going.|
