And the pictures don't do it justice. I'm going to thin some out and build a moss wall in another shrimp tank.

SlammedDC2 It's been a while since I've updated this so I thought I would throw a few pics up. Not the greatest pics but I'll try for some better ones tonight.
It's summer time and the tank has been at the house for about 3 weeks now and I finally cleaned it up this weekend. I removed some plants that weren't doing that great since the moss is blocking most of the light. Anyhow here are a few pics.

Can you see a little baby?

A couple adults

Thank you
I know, it has really grown on me. I'm setting up another shrimp tank (who'd ever thought that one tank would lead to another lol) and going to do something like it with mantz and moss.

SlammedDC2 Went by again yesterday to do a WC and thin out the frogbit, I didn't know the tank had a duckweed problem but I got to play with that as well. After an hour I think I got rid of it. Fingers crossed. Anyway here are some pics
Sorry for the crappy phone pics, I keep forgetting to bring my camera.

Every two weeks I thin out the frogbit and leave the mother plant, here is a picture of her

with a couple ottos. The kids love it. As soon as they are done with their work they ask if they can go over and watch it. There are kids not even in her class that ask to come in and watch it. They have been doing really well with keeping up with the ferts and feeding. I'm just amazed at how well the moss is growing.
The only thing I really see wrong with this tank is the abundance of snails, I am going to pick up a few assassins and drop one in each tank to combat that problem.

SlammedDC2 Went up to the school today for the second time to check on the tank. It looks amazing. It's awesome how much it's grown not being able to see it everyday. Anyhow heres some pics, ignore the glare as they were taken with my phone.

SlammedDC2 Tank was finally taken to the school today. To bad the ride in destroyed it. Everything was shaken up and very cloudy. I got a few of the plants re planted but the rest will have to wait til next thursday when I go in to check on it. I know the fish and shrimp are fine as they were all swimming around with great color when I was refilling it.

xenxes I can just imagine all the kids going home... "mommy I want a fish tank!" -- "nooo not the betta kit, a BIG PLANTED TANK! WITH MOSS AND SCHOOLING FISH!!!"

SlammedDC2 Here's a few updated pictures. The tank should be going to the school a week from today. Anyway here's an update

More when the shrimp get in.

SlammedDC2 Nope, just the cheapo hood/light that came with the tank. DIY is always a good route, cheaper and better sense of pride in what you built.

Picked up one otto today after work. All they had in petsmart. Oh well, maybe they'll get more in and I can add one more.
