The main reason Im considering leaving it out is I already did it. One thing about living things, planted tanks included, is they change/evolve.
Right now I agree- I REALLY like the beach area and the contrast it provides. If I put the bust back, I lose that. It seems like a natural evolution to the tank but I do miss it a little too.
This tank won't be torn down unless I move so it will continue to evolve- like all the anubias being moved and dying off. The java moss is taking over the fissidens. The java fern is basically out... etc.
My main issue with the bust is it can't really evolve- it will have to be redone over and over and over. Im not sure I want to stare at rubber bands holding plants on its head again! LOL!
But I do agree, I LOVE THE BEACH! And there is NOTHING cooler than watching the hill stream loaches change color/bleach out from green to whitish tan as they scoot around it like tiny sting rays!!!

|someoldguy||Tank looks great!! Much better without the bust , the open sand area opens the tank right up and contrasts nicely with all the stone/greenery around it . IMHO I'd keep the tank 'beheaded'.|

I'm letting the tank grow out a bit before I decide what to do.
That's the issue with any plant I grow on his head- it will always have to cycle and start new every few years.
I really like the big beach area for now and the fish really like it- especially my school of 8 panda corys!

Just did a water change so it's a little cloudy
Filling in on the right really well! And moss is starting to cover the rock over the anubias- killer!!!
I can't get professional shots anymore sadly so it's gonna be these for a while...

Subwassertang it is! It reminds me of hammer coral from my old reef tank a little in leaf shape.
It's doing really well!
I'm always amazed at how crappy my cell phone pics come out...

|lamiskool||Could be Mini pellia aka coral moss aka Riccardia chamedryfolia. Cant tell from the pic as its a bit fuzzy. Or it could also be subwassertang. If it has a hard almost coral feel to it then its riccardia, if its soft and paper like then its subwassertang!|

Tank- (I will never understand why the computer smushes the panoramics to look shorter... The tank is LONGER but the images always come out squished...
New plant on right side-
If anyone can ID this plant I would appreciate it- I forgot what its called! I actually purchased it for the refugium on this tank but all the sudden one day it was growing on the SIDE of the petrified wood shown in the pic. Its doing KILLER and I love it! Ive been pulling chunks off the rock and placing them around the right side!
The java moss is allowed to go crazy then I pull it all off only leaving the small pieces attached to the rock to get the matting effect.
And notice the killer beach where the bust was... Man Im having trouble wanting to put the bust back in LOL! I guess thats the nature of living things and a natural human disposition to screw with things LOL!
Can't wait till the right fills in!

It goes away once in my trash tank but comes back if I put it back in the main tank.
The worst part is I intentionally introduced it thinking I could beat it as usual. This time with the hard water I was wrong!
What i wouldn't give to go back in time lol!
The petite has it too but never as bad as the larger anubias types.
My trash tank is 60 gallons so that's where I put the over growth. It doesn't get co2 so the plants don't go nuts.

|AquaAurora||What do you plan to do with the coffeefolia? Sell it maybe (hint)?|

|kman||Wow. Great scape! If you end up redoing it, you could totally rock a Mayan pyramid, that would be amazing, too.|
