|FlyingHellFish||Mad respect for anyone who can keep Dwarf Puffers healthy and happy. I had a terrible time deworming them, it seem as if they die faster than Otos.|

|problemman||Yes sometimes it will develop on the gravel depending but usually under|

|WillyJ||Okay, thanks Problem. Will the bulbs develop below the surface of the substrate?|

|problemman||Those are new shoots but there is no bulb yet.as they grow they will grow one which they store nutrients. Give then a couple weeks and then they should have good enough roots then you can move them|

|WillyJ||A quick question about my Tiger Lotus. I have new leaves coming up through the substrate in various locations (see previous post pic, front center). Are these "shoots" or does the Tiger Lotus send out new bulbs which these leaves grow from? In other words, can I pull these new leaves up and plant them in another tank? Thanks!|

Well, not too much going on lately. This tank is pretty steady these days. Eden Marel gave me some Hygros that I stuck in the back left, they are doing awesome! I moved the wood around a little and moved the java moss and anubias to a lower light tank (they were harboring much algae). I also added a few more puffers, to put the total count at 7. And I know, it needs trimming :p

Well, I had a cataclysmic event last weekend and lost 8/9 Tiger barbs the ram and the puffer I knocked the circulation pump out of position and either that caused there to not be enough O2 in the water overnight or there was an issue due to a "burn out" in the water system (see this post).
I did a water change immediately and then a smaller one the next day. The surviving barb seemed healthy, he was definitely lonely though. I removed an amazon sword that was was way to big for the tank and added some Rotala and water sprite.
Today I took the barb into Aqua Imports and let him join some friends. I picked up 3 dwarf puffers (1 male, 2 females) and a clown pleco. I did a water change while acclimating them and then let them go free. The puffers are happily checking out their new home and hunting snails.

|problemman||Its not a big deal as long as you get educated in the hobby you can make quick and accurate judgments.well kinda quick.|

|WillyJ||Oh, that sucks... I did a small amount of research on Rams because I've been planning on getting one or two but I didn't see anything about these guys. Thanks for pointing this out Problemman. Impulse buys are always a bad idea, d'oh!|

|problemman||That would be a male ram and no its not a hybrid rather then a deformity that was bred into them.its really sick if you think bout it. I have had all kinds of rams but I won't own that kind.take him back and tell the store owner that they shouldn't carry them.and get a regular ram they are much prettier.|

|WillyJ||This is the new Ram. The LFS had him/her (any input on sexing?) labeled as an Angel-Blue Ram hybrid, but I don't think that's possible do to them being different genus'. I'm guessing it's a Balloon Blue Ram.|

Haven't updated in awhile and I've gotten some nice pics lately so here you go
Sadly I lost my female puffer a couple weeks ago I've added a ram since then who thinks he is a tiger barb, schooling with them all day long lol. I know the tank is probably overstocked but it is also over filtered and there are lots of hiding spots/ line of sight breaks so it seems to be alright. I am currently establishing a NPT (Walstad style) that I may consider moving the ram and/or the puffer to.
The Glosso has been filling in nicely since I removed a sword plant on the left and trimmed a bunch of Tiger Lotus leaves that were shadowing it. The moss rope on the top left is doing well too
Love this one. It is a composite of 4 separate pics using PhotoStich. I spared you guys from the 14MB original file, lol. I can post a link to the snapfish album if anyone is interested.

Well, the anubias isn't getting worse, which I guess is a good thing. It still looks kinda gnarled tho:
The Glosso is planted better, I think. It was not nearly deep enough in the substrate and was growing up instead of out. I'm really liking the look of the tank these days, I just hope the Glosso fills in quickly
Still some remnants of that dang clown puke >.< And I'm having a little BBA, but nothing too serious.

|WillyJ||Thanks LyndaB! And I almost removed the barbs when I put the puffers in. I was worried they wouldn't get along but the male puffer actually schools with the barbs sometimes|

|LyndaB||Love the contrast in the coloring of the barbs against the various greens of the foliage. Great job!|
