anastasisariel Never got out to Aqua-World but did check out Petland in Lake Saint Louis,.. very nice selection of plants there and even cherry shrimp. He has local breeders as his suppliers on many of the fish.

Aelinn I'm in St. Louis, near the Hill and Tower Grove. I'm just terribly shy :-) I did just go to Aqua-World on Gravois finally (everything's a field trip with two kids in tow!) and we all liked it. Plenty of healthy plants, and they told us they're getting ready to build up their saltwater collection.

Wow, thanks soo much! I will definately be there. I was probably 24 hours from placing an order online.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered a bunch of plants yesterday, but I may drive up and check it out.

mark546 KC area. Fishworld in blue springs is gone. Petland in blue springs has some decent fish and driftwood, even some nice plants if you can find them, but the staff is hopeless. They couldnt tell me where anything was. Brothers pets almost always has an excellent selection. They are very hit and miss on the health of their freshwater stock so inspect anything you buy well.
City Pets always has some good oddball stuff and the most helpful staff around. They have BBA in all tanks. Bleach dip any plants, rock, or driftwood you buy there. As for fish all are in great health.
Planet pet is gone.
Picasso is cool to check out but anything and everything is 2-3 times the cost anywhere else.
If I am forgetting any in the area let me know, but I think thats it.

Oh yeah the Walmart in blue springs gets some decent cichlids in every once in a while. You just have to catch them right after they are stocked.
The Petco in Lees summit and blue springs both have very very good aquatic department managers. They keep everything in as good shape as possible. The manager in the Lees summit store even orders oddballs in every once in a while.

Frank Abagnale I have a 40 breeder and a 10 gallon. What about you?

Casardo IM in stl my names casey. what kinda tanks do you have

Frank Abagnale With anubias, I don't think the co2 matters much. I would say you can have as much as you want and as close as you want. I have tons of anubias packed into my driftwood.

J_Childs Both, I have my oldest one growing on a piece of driftwood, and 2 growing in the substrate.

And just in case it makes any difference in the answer, I am running low light and no CO2
09-06-2013 04:10 PM
Frank Abagnale Are you planting them in the substrate or attaching to driftwood or rocks?
09-06-2013 04:05 PM
J_Childs Hi, I am in the OFallon, MO area.

I have been getting my plants from Petland in Lake St Louis. They have a pretty good selection and the manager even grows some of the plants himself. I am fairly new to planted tanks, so what I consider a good selection might not be, but they seem to have as many plants as they do fish.

On a side note, how close can I or should I plant anubias to each other? I recently did a major overhaul(last night) on my 55g and really like anubias. Now I need to fill in the tank with more plants.
