travis Thanks Ibn, very good point. I often forget that a great deal of the plants purchased from nurseries are grown emersed

Ibn It might have been grown emerged and if that's so, it's very normal to see such a transition.

Nuphar japonicum var formosa

I've got a Nuphar japonicum var formosa that I planted about five weeks ago and have been watching very closely ever since. It was about 10" tall when I got it but all of the new leaves are coming in and only reaching 3-4". They look even better than the old leaves (which are dying off now) but I'm wondering if this is just the acclimatisation phase and growth will take off in time or if it simply doesn't like my water parameters. This plant should get enormous when mature so I'm expecting some serious growth eventually.

Water Parameters
Temp: 77-80
pH 7.2
KH 14
Nitrates: 7-8 ppm
Phosphates: 1 ppm
CO2: 25-30 ppm
Lighting: 3.5 wpg CF
