!shadow! lf i were you i'd read the sticky at the very top. Very useful information, pretty much what mistergreen said in that sentence.

mistergreen It's called black brush or beard algae or BBA.

What works for me is to scrub it off, dose excel for a week or 2 in addition to the CO2. And make sure your CO2 and nutrients are at optimal levels.

black algea?

thats the best way to describe it looks similar to hair algea but it appears black. it is taken over my micro swords and also growing on the spraybar. it's a high light co2 tank. running 2 months now. any ideas
