DJ Captain Thanks Green,

Like I said, This is going to be my first paludarium, and i wasn't sure if I had another option, aside from florite. Not just for the under gravel, but for cost as well, that damn florite aint cheap

Green024 This may be blunt but, ditch the under gravel filter . Dont you think your plants will thrive better in Florite Natural minus the under gravel filter, compared to keeping it and putting larger plain rocks and pebbles as their substrate? If you can make it work than do it up

Great deal on the tanks by the way.

Need Some Recomendations...

Hello Forum Members,

So, here is where i need help, and here is where I hope to find it. I was lucky enough to pick up 2x 135 Gallon acrylic tanks for under $150.00 with 2 separate filters. One became a new saltwater tank, the other I'm attempting my first Paludarium. So far so but, but I'm about ready to start working on my bottom and ran into a problem with substrate. I was planning on using Florite natural, and used it for the first time in my FW 55 gallon. I also planned to use an under-gravel filter in my 135Gl hook up to an eheim 3 canister filter, but after it burned out a pump in my 55, im not sure that's a great idea.(don't want to kill the filter). I'd really like to have a natural "river bed" look, but have come to the conclusion that I may just have to use rock in order to use the under gravel filter. Anyone have any other suggestions??
