Lol. Well I am replacing the Dwarf Sag with Marselia Minuta, and I might get rid of all of the Sunset Hygro. I could probably take out a few stems of Rotala to make room for some new Blyxa

FrostyNYC That Ozelot Sword is too pretty to cut.

I think your plan sounds okay. I personally prefer rocks on the sides, not in the middle. Off center would be okay.

ZooTycoonMaster Ok so now I have some new resolutions.
  • Marselia Minuta and Downoi will be the primary foreground plants
  • I'll make the Ozelot Sword the focal point, and trim it occasionally
  • I'm going for the concave aquascape
  • The main "tall" plant on the left will be Rotala Rotundifolia
  • The main "tall" plant on the right will be a jungle of Crypt Becketii/Petchii
  • The middle will consist of Blyxa Japonica.

How does this sound?

Also, I'm considering putting some lava rock in the middle. Anyone have any opinions on this?

Phoenix-cry Nice, I like that touch of red!

ZooTycoonMaster Ok so I looked over some aquascaping principles, and I want the Sword to be the focal point, and I also want the tank to have the concave look (higher on the left and right sides and lower in the middle).

So I think I'll just let the Crypts on the right grow to as tall as they can, then possibly move the Sword over a tad bit to the right. Maybe I'll keep the Blyxa in the middle and keep it short

EDIT: Wow, I used the 1:1,618 ratio for figuring out the focal point, and my Sword is just a couple inches off from that point

EdTheEdge By all means if you like it then don't cut it! I like to keep my swords trimmed. But if there is something in your tank that you like then try and enhance it. Maybe you could even try and give your sword more space by thinning out everything around it.....

A tank like yours will be trimmed many times over the lifespan of the scape. Cut out what you don't like keep what you do. After a while it will take shape.

ZooTycoonMaster But I like the red leaves of the large Sword

Do I just cut off the largest leaves to trim it?

EdTheEdge Closer groupings will bring out more detail. Trimming the sword might also help.

Maybe group 2-3 types on each side and have the middle somewhat open. Also any consideration for a foreground plant? HC or MM.
I'm considering HC and/or Glosso in the future, once I get my new Eheim.

I need some help thinking about plant arrangements and whatnot...so feel free to say what you think

Btw these pictures were taken in the morning as opposed to night, so they may not be as vibrant as the other pics I take.
