original kuhli There's lots of descriptions of it all over the site, I've seen but not used it and I'd describe it as:

-nearly black
-mixed grain size
-shipped wet

About a year ago several bags were 'bad', if I remember right, they were crumbly and broke down over time or something like that. In general it sounds like a good product, just do a search for it on the site.

Tempest Is Eco-Complete like soil? I'm looking for a good SANDY substrate. I'm looking into different Sands like caribsea and all that but that won't be too great for my plants. Whats Eco Complete like?

original kuhli Only problem is that there isn't a single bag of eco-complete in Calgary - I've looked!!!

The eco-complete is twice as expensive as the Aq plants substrate although the shipping is cheaper. All in it's 1.5 x as expensive as aqplants.

Thanks for the suggestion though, its really hard to get a substrate at a reasonable price in Western Canada.

spypet Fish Supplies, Online Fish Supplies, Aquarium Products, Aquarium Accessories at Big Al's Online
ships from Niagara Falls, Canada
might be better off just getting
Eco-Complete from them.

Calgary Group Buy - Aquarium substrate

I'm interested in putting together a group buy from for their substrate. The shipping is pretty nasty and I'm looking into ways to get it here cheaper. If you're intersted please post your needs here. To start the ball rolling I'm in for two buckets.

Anybody? Let's wrap this up by January 19th (ie, order placed).
