Wilson's woodworking made my custom stand and canopy. Tracy was great to work with. He's in grass valley now but still services Sac.
Here's a pic before it was painted.

That sounds about like the right price-range on custom ADA-style stand. I don't have a table-saw or router, or experience working with formica, or the space really to build an entire stand. But I do have a circular saw and power drill, so I should be able to manage modifying the Ikea piece. I think I am going to try that first.
If that doesn't work out, I may PM you regarding a custom build. Thanks!

|puopg||For price IKEA probably can't be beat. I had mine custom made for my 60P for $350 by a co-worker. Very good quality and you can even come and see it if you like. It was his first time making a ADA stand so now that he knows how to build it, things should be much easier.|

I suppose if I went custom, ADA-like would be nice. My main criteria are sturdy, flat-top for rimless, and something that I can hide my equipment in. I haven't seen anything local or even online meeting all this.
It seems some people have had good luck with the "Besta" Ikea piece for this footprint size. I might just go with that and modify it to add a door.

Quality Stands, Nor Cal
I am looking for a 24x12 footprint aquarium stand, and I don't really have the tools or experience to build one yet (some day). I have been surprised by the lack of selection for quality stands, so was wondering if anyone around here might have suggestions, either pre-fab or custom built. I'm in the Sacramento area, but can travel some. Thanks.
