Need help building light for fish only tank

I am doing a african cichlid tank, and since they are known to uproot everything and anything I will likely only have anubius and java fern tied to rock at the most. It is a 55 gallon tank that I built a custom oak canopy for. Now I need to know how to put a bulb in it to light up my tank and hopefully give just enough light for the fern and anubius to survive.

I know it has been done tons of times I just need a recommendation on a easy DIY kit or a walkthrough on how to build a t5 or t8 setup or something.
