Soothing Shrimp Yeah, me too. The dark background make it tough to see where my shrimp are that are dark colored. That's why I have white now.

I think yours is a Fluval. My next net buy may be one, but I'm so cheap. LOL I've super glued my current one a couple times because of rips and I really like the box shape to the net.

speedie408 Bryce,

I forgot where I bought them from, but I have another kind with black netting that I got off Ebay. I like these white netting ones much better because you can actually see the shrimp much better as your catching them.

Soothing Shrimp Looks like mine without the ring on the end. What kind is that Nick?

speedie408 One at a time with one of these. If you're good you can get 5-10 each scoop, but that'll take some practicing .

mordalphus Use a net, it gets easier after a while, just takes some practice

R.sok I use a net & chopstick, but for the real difficult ones I use a 1 inch siphoning hose

Soothing Shrimp I use 10g tanks, and found that I can use a double sponge filter as a prop to hold up the lid without it slipping. Works like a charm!

I also have a round deep pocket shrimp net with a telescopic handle. Best I've ever owned.

And yes, it takes a while. Especially with Malawa. Those suckers have the fastest tail flip of any shrimp I own thus far! Not fun netting them on shipping days!
01-21-2013 01:54 PM I have an Edge tank from Fluval and with that small opening it's darn near impossible to catch them with a net. I took a small plastic water bottle, cut in about half, drilled a hole in the cap,and shoved the cap end back into the other half. I put a little bit of food in it first and then sink the bottle. It works great, just keep an eye on it, you don't want to leave it in there to long once it starts filling up with shrimp.

Fdsh5 Patience is key. Especially when it's time to pull out the not so pretty shrimp from my yellow / CRS tank.

nyxkitten I see a lot of patience! My guys likes to run from the net even when not moving.

Rob in Puyallup I found the best way to catch my opae ula (when transferring some to the new tank) was to put an algae wafer in a small net, hang it low in the water, and when it was full, (literally 30 seconds later!), I quickly pulled the net out.

Fdsh5 Seems to be the common way. A net and a drum stick work like a charm for me. Sometimes I go all Chuck Norris on them and yell and they jump out into my catch container.

Computer Science I use a net and a chopstick to entice them to go in

rodcuda Small round shrimp net and very gentle, often they will go right in to inspect. If needed I use a wooden skewer to carefully tickle them in.
