|Hoppy||T8 bulbs have 1 inch diameter glass tubes. T5 bulbs have 5/8 inch diameter tubes. You can check them yourself.|

|panchovilla1133||I was told that the bulbs were T8s but my friend could have been wrong. As for plants I know I have some crypto's not sure what kind but they are doing fine I dont think I could kill it if I tried. I also have some wisteria, and java fern that is not doing well. also some plants I got for free from a friend a petco, here they just toss them out once they get algae on them but I have some oto cats so they clean them up nice. I also have eco complete.|

|cclaeys||might wanna provide some more info on what type of plants you are growing...those odyssea typically aren't the best at putting out light. If it were me, I would replace all of the bulbs.|

|allegori||Those are t5ho bulbs. 96watts / 4 bulbs = 24watts a bulb. Buy some 6500k bulbs to replace the actinics or swap that actinic with the other normal bulb. That way one switch wil turn on the normal white bulbs.|

|cclaeys||think those are actinics, you should replace them, they are for saltwater. You sure they are T8's?|

Can anyone give me info on Odyssea lights?
I bought a Odyssea from a friend of mine for 20 bucks for my 29gal tank. The light has 4 T8 bulbs, and from what my friend told me it should have about 96 watts. He used it to grow coral. There are two normal bulbs, two purple neon bulbs and two power switches. Each light switch turns on one of each bulb (normal and neon). I dont need 96 watts so I only use two bulbs at a time. I haven't really seen any improvments in my plants. Are these neon bulbs any good for plants? how long should I keep it on every day? Are lights for coral any different from freshwater plant lights? It almost seemed like things where doing better when I had my old 19 watt light. Any help would be appreciated.
