So... How's this shrimpy doing?

|Veneer||It just looks like necrotized tissue. It's hard to say what exactly was the cause, but the opaqueness is not a good sign.|

|Aquasapien69||Very hard to figure out from the pic, but I would lean toward parasite and quarantine the shrimp. Definitely not a broken blood vessel. It looks like some sort of foreign body to me. If you are going to just get rid of it, I would be interested in dissecting it under a stereoscope and trying to see what it is. PM me know if you want me to give it a shot.|

Looks like a grasshopper leg. One time my cat ate one and had its leg stuck in its throat. Boy was it an ordeal to get it out.
In all seriousness it doesn't look like a parasite...it could just be a birth defect.

|Soothing Shrimp||I don't think it would be a ruptured blood vessel since shrimp have an open circulatory system. (like insects) that opens into the body cavity so that all the organs are bathed in blood. Plus, to my knowledge, their blood is clear.|

I'm a strong advocate for shrimp life regardless of the shrimps condition.
But I would tend to agree with Ben on that one.
Just make sure you do proper observing before you euthanize. If it lives past two weeks, maybe it is fine. It really just looks like a ruptured blood vessel.

|Ben.||I would get rid of the shrimp, especially if it's not acting normal and could have a parasite.|

|Rob in Puyallup||Looks to me like something leaking from under it's carapace. Is odd. Has it been injured?|

|Soothing Shrimp||I've never seen that before. Does it move? Is it possible it's a parasite?|
