|zzrguy||Filed the opening for the flow adjuster and the noise was lessened quite a bit and now it been about two months and the noise is gone.|

|TexasCichlid||Get some vaseline. Pull the impeller off of the metal rod. Get a q-tip and cut it down a bit, coat it with vaseline and then coat the metal impeller shaft with the stuff. Less is more, don't feel like you need a ton on there. Put the impeller back on. This coupled with a couple dabs of silicone on the cover should eliminate the noise.|

I would look carefully at the way the parts are fit together. There seems to be problem with alignment that is not normal. Burrs or flash left on the plastic would seem normal but enough to make it a problem sounds really unlikely.
But then you CAN see it much better than me!

|dprais1||I'm not trying to be a smart a--, but I don't think that your AC was custom made or I can't imagine that your AC is any different than the other hundreds of thousands...so how can it be molded wrong? I would keep playing with it, they can be a little tricky sometimes.|

WOW MY PHONE EDITED THAT WRONG.
The part of the lid is where the adjuster pokes throw is rubbing so I used a wood chisel and opened up the opening a little. I still need to work on it but the lid is a little quieter now..

My lids do rattle from time to time. Usually just touching them to resettle the lid will cause mine to stop for awhile. If that doesn't work I just take it off until I happen to notice it again, then put it back on.

|rrastro||Mostly I just push down the intake tube so its snug with the pump inlet orifice.|

|kevmo911||Certainly many, and maybe most, just do away with the obnoxiously noisy lid altogether. I have no idea where my lids are, and I run 3 AC's.|

|PlantedRich||Sounds like the inlet tube may not be pushed down quite all the way. I do use silicone on my lids.|

|talontsiawd||Unless you have crazy more dust than is reasonable to live in, I would just ditch the top. I have tried so many things to try to keep them from rattling but it just isn't worth it.|
