I love the overgrown look as well, but I let it get too out of control lol

Update 3/6/13

Hey guys, felt it was time to update after I did a relatively large re scape to open up the front of my tank and free up some swimming space for my fish!
Now that I have the finnex ray 2, I added more dwarf sag and I really hope it goes crazy just like the other plants. The new light has made a huge difference and even though its still low tech the growth has been incredible with this light.

If you are interested in a video update, please check out my youtube channel!

Tell me what you guys think of the tank now! Thanks

Update 1/19/13

I have moved some plants around to free more space for swimming room and my fish seem a ton more confident and healthy. So I think the tank is looking a lot better now and has more of that balance between swimming space and jungle area. I also tried to frame my driftwood with the plants as one person mentioned. Tell me what you guys think and how you would improve it.

Here's a link to a youtube update! Sub if you like the channel!

Thanks! I really need to update!! It's just i am doing a little rescape and as this is a dirt tank I do it in small junks every water change. Stay tuned hopefully I can get a pic up tomorrow.

BTW cories, gbr, and rummies are a fantastic 29g stock

Thanks, means a lot. Keep working at yours, Im sure it will look great!

I will finish up rescaping the tank this week to open up the front of the tank more. Hopefully it will look a lot better, and I have been cramping my fish a little too much will all the plants as they come all the way up to the front glass, lol. I will get pics up this week!

mitchfish9 I agree 55's are some of the most annoying dimensions. Looks terrible looking at it from the side because it is so skinny and too tall. I saw a thread complaining about 29's, but 55's are the same width and even taller. Looks out of proportion. 75's on the other hand, are very nice.

jpalimpsest My 38 gal is from PetCo, but I bought it before the $1/gal sale. I'm not sure whether they are included. I had a 55 gal in the past and was frustrated by the lack of depth. It felt out of proportion with the length. If you're going that big, I'd go ahead and get a 75 gal. I'm not sure if that's included in the sale. I hope you love whatever tank you choose.

Starting a youtube channel to talk about planted tanks while keeping track of my tank at the same time! If some of you guys could sub, like, and comment that would be awesome!

mitchfish9 Pristellas are great! Very underrated tetra. Mine are the gold variety which I do not like nearly as much. That is why i am trying something new

Cheaper to check craigslist for a tank with a stand.

I agree. The guppies just seemed to be humping all of the time. My favorite now is the pristellia tetra from Petco. They swim together.
