Sorry for the delay in replying....been a busy week for me.
I like analog simply because I don't have to deal with batteries and more frequent calibration. My digital wall hygrometer hasn't been calibrated since the 80's and is still dead on.
Is there a digital model that anyone would recommend??
I may consider building an acrylic housing with an open bottom. The misting will always come from above.
thanks for the input!

|lochaber||Instead of needing one that can withstand direct misting, maybe you can build something to shield the probe from misting. -Not sure what shape/size it is, but maybe just place a small board of plastic an inch or so from it, or stick a bit of acrylic tubing around it, just enough so it doesn't get sprayed on, yet can still get some airflow around it.|

unfortunately, you won't find and accurate analog hygrometer that will survive direct misting. at least not in the pet trade. best bet is a digital with remote probe like you have. outside the pet trade, you may find very high quality hygrometers built for high end humidors. check cigar shops that carry mega dollar humidors. i like the exoterra temp/hygrometer digital combo. it's fairly accurate, at least a lot more accurate that analog types.
any specific reason you prefer analog?

Does anyone make a good hygrometer??
Herp guys! Need your help on this one!
I'm looking for a high quality, analog, hygrometer that can withstand direct misting. I've tried the ZooMed & Petco models (both were recommended) and they are both garbage (one says ~40%, the other says ~ 65%, my calibrated digital probe says ~89%, which is very close to expected values).
This is for my emersed tank where it will be in direct contact with misting from a mist king, and from heavy condensation and dripping from the cover above. My humidity levels in this mostly sealed system exceed 80-85% at all times.
Any help would be appreciated, even if it is other models NOT to buy.
Many thanks in advance!
