Hello, and welcome back to aquariums.
Where did you live before Texas? What are the specs on the tank you currently have setup?
You can check out the Dallas Fort Worth Aquatic Plant Club. We happen to be having a meeting tomorrow. The details are located at http://www.aquatic-plants.org/meetings.html One of our members is setting up a new planted/ shrimp tank and that will be the focus of the meeting. You would be more then welcome to come check it out.
The club is a great resource for members, and everyone is really nice. They have been very helpful as I setup my tank. Last month our meeting topic covered freshwater shrimp, and several of the members keep shrimp. Also, some of our members belong to the Texas Cichlid Association, www.texascichlid.org They could probably provide information on local breeders. Also, we use the http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...ic-plant-club/ as our club forum. In addition, Dallas has several local fish stores, and everyone has their own opinion on those. The Fish Gallery, Rift to Reef, etc.
Welcome to Texas and The Planted Tank. This forum is a great resource of information, and the swap and shop is top notch. I have purchased plants from two of the forum members and was very happy with them. I also purchased from fire red shrimp from a member in Houston and they are outstanding.

|radioman||If you want shrimp then buy them from the forum members in the swapnshop. It's the cheapest place around.|

Planted tank lover moving to the dfw metro
Don't post much but love to check out the threads and pics. Just wanted to see if any locals were into dwarf cichlids & shrimp with they're planted tanks. If so, where do you get them?
