Beer Going off of Rich's suggestion, I do know of a homebrew supply shop that carries 14 gallon barrels that are intended for meat packing (clean and unused). Food grade plastic, snap on lid, locking ring for the lid, and stainless handles. He has a bunch of fittings and tubing too, so he can help you modify the barrel as you see fit.
He also carries different mineral supplements for adjusting water profiles to match different regions for specific beer styles. Could be handy to adjust GH/KH. I'm going to pick up some of these once I get my tanks situated and start getting serious with shrimp.
The shop is just over the border in RI. 403 Park Ave in Woonsocket, RI. Check here for the hours

wastedtime Thanks for the suggestions, Yes syrup barrels seem to be a viable option. I'll check them out.

PlantedRich Ouch! That is quite a price with the added shipping. Maybe some brain storming on alternate barrels? Syrups like used for sodas? There should be some folks on here who work around places that use smaller plastic shipping barrels. I found a great barrel from a small beer brewer but it is close to 24" wide. The nice part was that it was ten dollars! Would home brew folks on a forum have some good ideas? Not enough floor space for an old beater fish tank? They can be found for much cheaper than you have now.

Juice concentrates are shipped in several sizes. 35 gallon being one of them. If there is an in state "home grown" quick shop chain that sells house brand apple or orange juice, the store might be able to put you in touch with corporate who might put you in touch with their bottling plant manager.

Plastic Water Barrels ?

Anyone know where to get the Ace Denhartog barrels in Mass ? I havent found any distributors yet.

This is what I am looking for.

The other big barrels found on craigslist and big box stores are 24" wide. I need something that is 18" wide.

The tank isnt expensive, but the shipping kills it for me ($55)
