Hoppy Home Depot now has 48 inch long, 2 bulb T5HO strip lights (no reflectors), and might also have it in a 24 inch length. That would be perfect for many DIY lights.

GeToChKn I would go for a DIY CFL fixture instead of T5's or T8. They are easy to do, cheaper than doing a T8 setup and bulbs are way cheaper as well. I have 3x13w CFL bulbs over my 20gal, and plant growth has exploded compared to what it was before.

proaudio55 ummmm, what length are you thinking? Because you can get ready made 4' long garage / shop lights fairly inexpensively.

I'm trying to provide medium light for my tank because i have low light please help!!!!!!!!
