Seattle_Aquarist Hi All,

I have to agree with Mary, Seattle area LFS have some great plants if you know where to look. Occasionally A Place for Pets in Burien has Java Fern 'Trident' and Pogostemon erectus. At Sierra Fish and Pets in Renton they regularly have Nymphoides sp 'Taiwan' and occasionally they have Hygrophila pinnatifida.

Robert may have to make a trip up to Seattle and do some scouting; the selection of aquatic plants in Seattle has changed substantially in the last few years!

There are loads of stores in the Seattle area with great plants and hard to find plants. The only place I know though to get ADA soil is The Wet Spot in Portland. I am surprised Robert didn't mention that. I purchased some Ludwigia sp. "Red", Hydroctyle tripartita, and Pogostemon erectus the other day at The Fish Store and some Penthorum sedoides, Pogostemon stellatus, and Limnophila repens 'mini' all at Denny's Pet World in Kirkland. I would say that is a fantastic selection of hard to find plant material available in the Seattle area!

LB79 SO jealous of you! I love the 'Spot! Never been to the other places. I guess I have some sightseeing to do when I'm in there next!

Seattle_Aquarist Hi LB79,

Heading to Portland on Thursday to visit the Greater Portland Aquarium Society (GPAS) meeting, The Wet Spot, and World of Wet Pets.

LB79 If you're going through Portland, OR, there's a must-see store called The Wet Spot Tropical Fish. They're the biggest on the west coast and have everything. Literally. Including ADA Aquasoil.

I've been pretty happy with the plant selection from Sierra Fish and Pets in Renton. The entire stock changes weekly though.

ukigumo11 The store is now called Fishaholics. It is somewhat small, but does carry some ADA products. They have items that other stores don't have, but it really is a hole in the wall. It is surprising that for such a small store, they don't seem to fully utilize their space; many tanks are empty and not a lot of hard goods.

However, they do carry rimless tanks, aquasoil, seiryu stone, shrimp, and things for planted tanks.

LNicho I read another post about finding ADA, and it said there is a small store called Aquarium Plus in Seattle. I haven't been to it, but I hear they sell a few ADA products. I also read it's really hard to find.

RoseHawke Well, there's apparently one in Arizona:

Which hardly helps if you're in Washington, of course!

kkau1 Thanksfor the responses. Was hoping a major city like Seattle would have a store carrying ADA stuff. I'm intersted in ADA substrates..... and they're reasonably priced... until you add in shipping : (

I think the only people supplying ADA products are the Senske brothers.

You might contact them and ask if the ship to any fish stores on you path.
