MASI Monthly meeting - 1/19/2012

The monthly meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012, at 7:30, at the Dorsett Village Baptist Church, off McKelvey Rd., in Maryland Heights. MASI is open to all a”fish”ionados, whether experienced or beginner, fresh water or salt. This month’s program is by local aquarist and nationally known speaker/photographer Gary Lange. He will discuss seven brand new and un-described rainbowfishes that he managed to find in three trips to West Papua, the western section of the island of New Guinea. He’ll show you photos of these fish along with the areas that they were collected. Gary will also show you some of the other fish that he caught that weren’t new to science but are new to the hobby.

Gary has been keeping fish since he was 10 and has been associated with the organized hobby for the last 29 years as a member of the Missouri Aquarium Society. Gary currently runs almost 100 aquariums, (2,700 gallons), keeping over 65 species and location varieties of Rainbowfish and Blue-Eyes.

The bowl show this month is the Cyprinids! There will also be a raffle for a and attendance prizes! Hope to see you there!!!
