Bruce_S Good to know, Hedge fund!

I'll probably be looking to set up with a colony or two of shrimp once business picks back up at my primary job. I _love_ visiting (and sometimes buying from!) both of the LFS in Greenwich, but can't really justify their asking price for a colony of shrimp on my budget.

hedge_fund I live in Greenwich if anybody needs help.

I also sell CRS/CBS to local hobbyists (I do not ship unless it's really close)....my tank keeps getting over populated with various grades.

BettaBoy The upper crust in Old Greenwich?
If I was rich, I WOULD HAVE ALL THE FISHTANKS I WOULD WANT

Im proud of myself though

LiveHumanSkeleton No need for apologies, I just wanted you to gain some comparative perspective. I've had the taste of a better life, until recently I counted on the friendship of someone from the "upper crust." But the fact remained, wherever I went I still carried the stink of inferiority that comes with living in Bridgeport. So you're right, there's nothing to be ashamed of, be rich and be proud!

BettaBoy I am not rich nor am i poor. I meet in the middle.
Do not judge me. becuase you have not met me, And becuase I havent met you, I wont judge you.
Ok thanks.

Not to come off as rude. But I dont not fit in here in Greenwich Ok, I really dont like it here. Its not my choice to live here either. I used to live in a small rual town, It was great. No one was Rich like here. there. I just got a great oppertunity to live somewhere else. We took the chance. And it has done well in some places but not in other.
Trust me, Me rich, Not going to happen soon

Again thanks.

Or if I totally misunderstood you.
Sorry,
I didnt mean that.

But I like bridge port. Have you taken the fairy to long island?

LiveHumanSkeleton With all due respect, but I live in Bridgeport, CT. You're not exactly going to find too many people living here that'll sympathize with you regarding your definition of "rich."

I agree that Greenwich Aquaria has pretty common stuff, but it's still always nice to walk around and look at all their stuff...especially when they have their big sales.

I don't mean to come off as a d*ck (although I probably did). If you like that place, then that's awesome and I hope you got nice stuff from them.
Can we make a E)
My parents support what i do. But I make my own money. I am far from rich. Although I do live in a rich town.

I do agree for some of it.. I also like HOF better becuase if you walk into GA. They automatically assume you are buying something.
I feel like I am sticking up for rick cuase he is my friend. Without him My hobbie would not be this.:P
I do think HOF is better for buying supplies. GA is good for somethings.
Petsmart is good for other things hahahahah

I've only bought discus from him and they are the best...not shy, not picky eaters, etc. I'd imagine the other fish are of equal quality.

Make an appointment in advance if you choose to go there.

Riverboa I go to both HoF and GA quite often. I feel that both are great LFS, I've moved around quite a bit it is quite rare to find not one but two such high quality LFS locally.

In terms of plants, I like the selection in HoF better, Rick is also very helpful if you ever want to special order. Plant price is high, but about the same as GA.

In terms Fish (freshwater), GA definitely have much better price.

For ADA stuffs, HoF definitely have the upper hand in terms of selection. Price is a bit on the high side, but I feel is reasonable for the bigger/heavier stuffs. I got my tanks and stands from them, the experience in both cases were excellent.

The only other non-big brand pet shop I go to is Fish Bowl in Stamford. Nice selection of fish (nothing too out of the ordinary), but the plants leave more to be desired.

Otherwise, I like buying plants from here or fish from the discus breeder down in NJ (1 hour from Greenwich).
It feels as though that you have the backwards. Greenwich Aquaria is nice to look around at House of fins is cheap.
Wait Reword.
GA has common stuff.
FoH has stuff that you have to buy off-line or find someone to buy it off of.
Not trying to be like super mean, I live walking distance from both of them.

I even talk to rick alot. The head honco guy at HoF. He is a boss.

Riverboa Franzi, who/where is this discuss breeder you are referring to? What selection of fish does he have?

Thanks.

akdmks Check out House of Fins and Greenwich Aquaria -- google their names and they'll have the address. I'm not sure about House of Fins but I know Greenwich Aquaria is on East Putnam in Riverside, which is right next to Greenwich.
