LFS: Aquarium Discount Pet Center, Marlton NJ
Aquarium Discount Pet Center
140 Route 73 North Marlton, NJ 08053 (856)985-1701 Aquarium Discount is not a bad store overall though I tend to only purchase dry goods from them. Most fish are just your garden variety tropicals with the occasional large trade in fish. Plant selection is horrible. Sell painted glassfish, also seen fish that they had no business holding in their tanks (Catalina Gobies). From 1 (low) to 5 (high), 3 being average: Selection (livestock) Tropical fish: 3 Salt Fish: 3 Plants: 1 Cichlids: 2 Corals: 2 Quality (livestock) Tropical Fish: 4 Salt Fish: 4 Plants: 1 Cichlids: 1 Corals: 3 Selection (dry goods) Tanks: 4.5 Filters and refills: 4 Foods: 3 Additives/dosing: 3 Lighting: 1 (they have some, but the price is above gouging) Specialty Items: 3 (lots of hard to find parts but no full systems) Overall: 3 Last edited by Chupacabras; 08-26-2004 at 09:40 PM. Small Tanks...Big Ideas
|
I visited here on Mon. July 10th before going to ILC. About the only thing worth seeing here is the tank selection. They have more tanks than most shops. Even unusual sizes and styles. Prices on the tanks are pretty good actually. I went there to pick up an nano cube but the 12 gal. they had in stock were the older style nano without the nite-vu. Also the only 12 gal were the floor displays. They had about 3 or 4 24 gal. in boxes.
The woman working there was friendly but busy. She really has her work cut out for her. The place is VERY tight and cramped. Some aisles couldn't fit 2 people side by side. The livestock was so disheartening. I would never dream of buying livestock there. Numerous tanks had dead fish in them. I saw one feeder goldfish tank that had easily 100 fish in it. This was a 20 gal tank. I would guess about 20 were dead. Every single fresh tank had BBA on the glass and hardware. The plant selection consisted of a tank with some melted anachris floating on top. If you are looking for tanks it might be worth it to stop in here because of their tank selection and prices. That's about it though. |
