Hc is a great plant for the foreground. It spreads quick once established, and for me, it is like a tank, it has steady growth, no matter what.
it like excel, and loves aquasoil, although i have it growing in both AS and inert sand. it grows rather slowly in the sand, but still steadily.
emmersed growth seems to be better than submerged, with the leaves being slightly lighter than submerged leaves.
Can be grown epiphitically(attached to wood) also. It's an all around versatile plant.

This plant and goldfish do not mix.
In less than 12 hours after adding the fish the poor plant was all torn up and had the filter completely clogged.
I'm used to my goldfish eating the plants in her tank, and am constantly experimenting with different plants to see what does well, and what becomes a snack. However, I've never seen her do quite what she did to this plant to any other plant.
I rescued the larger pieces with roots still attached and moved it to the beta tank. We'll see if any of it survives.

just put this plant in my tank. hope it turns out as beautiful as everyone elses, if this plant works for me then it will work for anyone that can afford the A-H supply retro fit kits. which are under 100 dollars even for the 36 inch 96 watt. O it also needs excell and co2

At first this plant shocked pretty badly, and it didn't help that my water sprite had taken over the top of the tank, cutting it's light. It looked dead. But I got the sprite and duckweed taken care of, and started fertilizing, and it is now growing back, bright and tiny!
