I adored this plant when I had it! It develops the most beautifully colored large lobe-like leaves. It's easy to keep IMHO. I destroyed it by dipping it in too much H202 during a drastic measure to kill BBA in my tank. It grew relatively fast for me, and I found that pinching off leaves led to bushiness quickly. I think it has a kind of rose bush appearance when it's bushy and planted in groups. I plan to purchase some more. One thing I did notice is that it seems to be prone to have algae on it when algae is already present in the tank. I had BBA and staghorn on it.

Please disregard my information. I have Ludwigia repens - not ovalis.

Its native to Japan and some other parts of Asia. It likes a good amount of light and C02. Seems to do better in soft water, but i don't think its crutial. Typically it has soft pastel coloring, salmon pink. The stems are a bit thinner and gthe plant over all is more delicate in nature than Ludwigia species from north america, repens, arcuata, palustris and so forth.
