This is a really cool plant. If you manage to fertilize it well and supply plenty of light it will really impress you. Lots of iron needed for this plant in order to bring out the intense red colors on both sides of each leaf. If you aren't dosing enough iron then the bottom of the leaf will still be red/purple but the top will be green to yellow. This isn't a bad thing though if you intend to use the purple/green effect instead of all red for aquascaping purposes. This one does not grow fast, and it is not that easy to propagate. I recommend letting each stem grow to the desired height and then snipping the very top. Once you do that side shoots will appear over time. Remove the side shoots as you please but you will always keep the original stem in its "snipped size" Good luck!
