Very easy and fast growing. Needs trimming but will grow new leaves in days. Planted in ADA AquaSoil with JBL Florapur enriched basefert. Lightings bright and C02 DIY kit.

I have the wide leaved variety of this species. It has very sturdy stems and will easily grow out of the water. Make sure to trim the tops as well as thin it out regularly or it will drop the lower leaves. It also grows very sturdy roots to anchor in the gravel. It's the only stem plant my yoyo loaches haven't managed to dig up. It's growning great in every tank I own with lighting ranging from less than 1 wpg to 3 wpg. I love how the leaves near the surface/light turn a bit orange/pink. My bristlenose plecos love to lounge on the huge leaves too.

the HC's always greener!

very easy plant to grow, but hard to have thrive in your tank. mine grow relatively fast under 2.4wpg, but gather algae and the upper leaves block out the light for lower leaves, so it ends up looking like a palm tree. Which of course is awesome, but maybe not always desired.
