I love these plants. beautiful color and nice and low. I disagree with a slow grow time though, mine is growing noticeably every day. Given the right conditions, these things explode.

What are the essential nutrients for this Tiger Lotus? I've had mine for about a year its only got 3-5 quarter size leaves all year long.

I got my lotus as part of the "assorted bulbs" package and in 3 months the leaves are huge. it even sent one up to the surface so I hope it will bloom.
1wpg lighting, no co2 or ferts, just fish.

Mine is in a corner of my 6 gallon and it must have 30 leaves in only 3 months. The irridescent color is beautiful.

Beautiful plant. Got it as a bulb and i have 5 quarter sized leaves already in about 2 weeks. Root tabs, flourish, trace, excel, and medium light have showed very quick growth for me.

My Tiger Lotus grew basal leaves very quickly. Within approx. 4 months, it also grew leaves that floated on the surface, and then sent out a bud. I was able to coax the flower bud through an opening at the side of the tank's top, and it bloomed a beautiful magenta flower outside of the tank. My tank is near a shady window and gets plenty (too much) light. Very cool. It has done this twice now, and I planted it in Feb. 2009.
