I had this plant in an eclipse 6 with a modified hood for a few monthes. it grew great, but stayed a dark green. i thought it was regular combomba but when taken out it does look a kind of purplish. i guess my light was not high enough for true red growth. After a while, it got shaded by my asian ambulia and stunted and despite clearing of the competition, it just wasted away. Also, be careful while planting, its leaves fall of very easily.

Truly beautiful in its peak but I didn't have much luck with this in my tank. Perhaps it was the lack of proper, adequate lighting (more than likely), that this plant just sort of melted away..

This is one of the 1st plants I ever had since starting fish keeping.
It's been a tremendous grower in my 90L coldwater tank & has doubled in size in 2 months.
I'm growing cuttings of it now in an unpopulated 90L tank. I love this plant & so do my Blackmoors!

I have this plant in two of my tanks. One is a relatively low tech 46 gallon. In a few weeks, it has grown a little bit, and stays a reddish green color. I took a stem and put it in a high tech 5 gallon about a week ago, and the new growth is a beautiful pinkish red. It grows much faster in the 5 gallon.

I have this plant in a well lit, DIY CO2 tank, with GREAT results. I've don pruning once a month, and planted it in my other tanks. I started with 1 stem, now have over 12, in just 4 months. I did not know it would grow as fast as it does. And best of all, it's deep red.
