I have a pair of these fish in a heavily planted 75l tank. They get on with everything, though the Male seems fascinated by the Otto. Female was very shy for a month when intoduced to the tank, but added a shoal of Harlequins and now she is a lot happier. The Most beautiful fish I have ever kept.

Very nice dwarf cichlid species. They are quite hardy and nice to look at. Aside from being semi-agressive in a community tank, the main problem with these fish is that they will keep spawning and spawning. If you choose to keep these in a pair they will fill up your tank with more babies than you'll know what to do with. If you keep more than one tank, think about seperating the male and female and putting them together only when you'd like them to breed and seperate them afterwards. Allthough they aren't very shy they do like to have a place to hide.

I gotta agree with AL... They are indeed THE MOST BEAUTIFUL looking fish I ever had. It gives me great joy when I look at them. They are shy at times but like to eat food at their door step... Hence it is advisable to feed them sinking food.
The Kribensis is by far my favorite fish. Mine are very healthy and have great colors. I have three females and one male in my 58 gallon planted tank. I highly recommend this fish.
