The Black Neon Tetra is a very peaceful schooling fish. It is native to the warm waters of South America, so a warm temperature and a pH of 6.5-7 are necessary for this fish to thrive in the aquarium. Their astonishing appearance and temper make them ideal for a community/planted tank. They are also schooling fish, that means they will appreciate the presence of their species and most likely form a school. They can be fed flakes, as they are not picky about eating. Black Neon Tetras are fairly easy to breed since they are egg scatterers. All of these factors make the Black Neon Tetra a relatively easy fish to keep in the home aquarium.
