I keep these fish in a 20 gallon they shared it with a pair of juli. transcriptus "gombi" there was few territorial issues between them. I have 30+ shells for them to hide in and about 6 different varieties’ of shells. I also have 2 dense piles of tufa rock. I find that the fish prefer the cover of the rock compared to a shell. If they are scared suddenly they would rather go into the rocks compared to a shell. Also I have not noticed much digging or shell moving behavior. The fish are still relatively young so activity might not be so prominent. Also I believe I might have 4 males as after 6 months there has been little breeding behavior, only a few territory "fin flashings"
