I saw these in a petstore actually schooling with some sort of cichlids. I really had to take a closer look but once u look at their tails, and see the colors on the body; you really appreciate the colors on this fish. If you have nice lights it will truely bring out their colors. and aditional side lights in the room will add on and they get more colorful as they get older. Only have 3 right now but I plan on getting more of these and once in a large group they aren't shy at all.

If yo uwant an active tank, this is the tetra to have. Mine dart all over the tank chasing each other - especially in the morning - absolutely beautiful!

Congos are just about my favorite tropical fish. I love their big eyes and soft iridescent shimmer. The flowing fins are awesome too, and they have such nicely shaped and proportioned bodies. They are fairly hardy and school nicely. Unfortunately I'm down to one female and the store where I used to buy them went out of business. Will definitely get more somehow.

I love these guys! They work so well in a tank with my angels. They are ravenous eaters and will attack just about anything that sinks near them. I feed frozen bloodworms, live blackworms, flake and color crumble. They have yet to turn down any food I present. They are fairly active mid-level swimmers and are constantly busy around the tank. A really awesome community fish!!

Amazing fish, keep them in a large group give them a large tank and open swimming space and the males will play with each other all day long, chasing and racing each other. Got 20 in a 90gal going to up it to 25-26 in the near future. Truely stunning when the curtians are open and the natural light hits them from front on, all the colours of the rainbow! As others have said, voracious feeders they have an huge appetite and can somehow put away massive quantaties of food, they always steal the bottomfeeders food too! Quite skittish fish tho, they hide all huddled in a group if you are anywhere near the tank, as soon as you step away from them they become ravenous and boistrous again. Also very tough and stocky when fully grown (One of mine is a freak, around 5.5inches!), more than capable of shaking of a beating from an over protective cichlid!

Extremely peaceful with other fish, keep mine with small corydora and have no problems at all. The males will get rough with each other, nothing serious just a few busted lips. One of my favorite fish, really beautiful when healthy, colours can't be caught in photos. BUT extremely skiddish, I have a school of 7 in a 125 gallon, plan to up it significantly to help reduce the stress. So imo must be kept in larger school
