i agree with Juan.i have kept and bred these guys for close to 10 years and have only seen a handful that displayed any aggression of real concern.the male kenyi is often mistaken for a lab and it is a terror.an auratus is a very different looking cichlid and very mean too.of course heavy drinking can impair your vision.
I have 8 of these guys in a 55 gallon tank with other African cichlids and they are wonderful! They are very brightly colored, very active, kind of like the tank clowns as they are very playful and swim all over, they love current and glide on it. Not aggressive at all. Great fish!
Awesome Mbuna who can be kept with nearly any other species. Very striking yellow. Will interbreed with similar looking fish such as orange zebras so if you want to keep fry avoid creating hybrids. They usually turn out dingy brown anyway. Most hybrids will not have the black in their dorsal fin...
