Love my albino cory. He's such a sweet fish. I went to the store to get some tankmates for him after I found out that they like buddies. Waiting for them to get a shipment in.
He has a really good temperament and he's fun to watch. :) Highly recommended fish.. best bottom cleaner ever.
I had 3 Albino's but 2 didn't make it. One was destroyed by a lobster I had for a few days, and then the other is still swimming around! I plan on getting some more! Great little fish, they wiggle around on the bottom of the tank, and occasionally burst to the top of the tank, then dart back down. I have a few Panda Cory's as well and they all do that once in a while.
I've had 4 C. aeneus, 2 bronze and 2 albino, for a couple years now, surviving even though a bunch of beginniner's mistakes. I really love these fish but wish they would come out of hiding more (I guess I have the opposite of takadi's experience?)... Whenever I move in the room they all scatter and hide under something... Maybe it's because I don't have enough of them? When they are out (when I'm sitting still) and feeding they are a joy to watch, very active and comical little fish. They get especially frisky after a water change or after I've kicked up some particles from the gravel. They have spawned for me several times (without me trying), though they always eat the eggs the next day. I would recommend them, but if at all possible, get at least 6 of them! They're happier with their own species around, but might also interact with other cories (such as my sterbais).
I have four of the Albinos in my 20 long, I find them interesting to watch as they seem to go on "patrols" together roaming in all areas of tank, then rest together. Though I have many hiding places for them they prefer to just hang out in what spot seems inviting at the moment. I'm curious if the fact I have white gravel in this tank is one reason they are so open in their actions, as far as concealment
I used to love the Albinos until i had an incident where 5 of my albinos got their eyes eaten out, ive found since then that other fish that are agressive tend to target their eyes for some unknown reason.
