This fish gets very large... more than 60 cm! The size should be updated to make people aware of how large these get.
ive seen one that was about 6ft long at a fish shop, swimming with huge gars.
I don't know why they even sell these. It's dumb to offer them to the general public, as they will probably end up in a lake, river, pond, etc.
I've seen them at Henry-Doorly Zoo and in pet shops. A very big fish.
A great tropical pond fish. If you've ever seen the top down outline of one of these beauties in a pond you can understand their popularity and persistence in the hobby in-spite of their obscene size. They have great personalities to boot and train readily.

I know a place that has a 7ft one in a tank. These are not aquarium fish, these are pond fish. Should not be kept by anyone who doesn't have a privately owned pond which has no access to other water. If you have a dechlorinated swimming pool, this would work great.
I have also seen them at the Henry-Doorly zoo. They are awesome and huge and completely inappropriate for almost all home aquaria.
