VI Pets

Went to the Cutlerville VI Pets near Grand Rapids over the past two weeks. Was hoping to pick up some moss or something nice for my tank, but wasn't impressed by their plants. Their fish looked pretty good though, and I was a bit shocked when I looked down in their reptile section and saw a nice sized juvenile alligator looking back at me from his tank. Check him out!

Anybody else been out there? I live about 3 hours away, so I've only been there the one time.

I remember going to a pet store in lavonia a looooooooong time ago and they had 2 alligators there....lol

how big is the gator and how much are they selling him for? I'm not interested, but just courious...lol There is an exotic reptile place about 10 minutes away from me (pets and things in Utica, MI) that usually has small dwarf caiman and gators...lol

If you're ever in the Grand Rapids area again, check out Blue Fish Aquarium in Jenison. Its the best fish store in West Michigan. They have a large selection of plants also.

The Cutlerville store has a great selection on fish and they usually have a couple shrimp or crayfish in stock, but their plants leave something to be desired. They also have a large saltwater selection, and lots of cichlids. 30+ tanks of cichlids would certainly be in the ballpark.

Check them out today. The livestock is a bit pricey but the aquascapers are def more knowledgeable and they do seem to take good care of their plants and fish.

Stay clear of VI Pets.
Like the person above said check out BlueFish.

I used to goto VI Pets all the time. A couple of issues with them.
First there is a rule that most people go by with VI Pets....
If you goto the one on Plainfield the staff out there acts like you are putting them out and just have major attitude problems yet have more live stock. If you goto the Cutlerville store the staff is the best, willing to help in every way they can only their live stock is few and far.

As for the rest of the VI Pet stores...
Not worth the trip when it comes to plants or live stock.

I used to spend tons of money at VI Pets and after reading so much about BlueFish I went and gave them a try and never looked back. 100% love the place and the staff. The live stock there seems to much more healthy and active. VI Pets is all about turn around. Get the live stock in and get it out ASAP. Salt, all they do is use copper and prey for the best.

Save you're tank and money.... Try BlueFish.
