A work buddy of mine told me he was interested in starting a planted tank, and we've been chatting (lightly) on the subject for a couple of weeks. Today, at lunch, we took a trip to a local fish store just for fun. I was excited to teach him how to be successful on his first tank... but I think I inadvertently downloaded too much info to him at once :-) Water chemistry, light, nutrients, soil, CO2, bacteria, kH this, and pH that. Ha! It's hard to not open the flood gates when you meet someone who gives you an ear.
