1. Regarding osmocote, is it still a good idea to use it mixed in the base layer under a cap of PFS, or is Laterite a better idea? or nothing but mulm?

2. Dimensions of tank.. 48x24x24 Lighting used in past are PC's..55w 6700K. Cover the entire top/length of tank (6 bulbs). Is this too much light? Any recommendations from you?

3. I need to stock up on fast growing plants as I only have Anubias and Java Fern.
Where in Sac/Bay Area do you recommend...other than Albany Aquarium?
