the red plant i have in my tank is Alternanthera reineckii 'rosaefolia, the tops of the leaves are olive green but the bottoms are a dark red/puple, whether or not it would survive in your tank is the question.. i have no idea what the lighting requirements are for the plant, my tank is on the higher end, plus i dose fertilizer.. i'll try and do some research to let you know on that.
and to answer your question about bamboo, the answer is no, it cannot be fully submerged, only about the bottom inch and a half can be in water and that's it or it will eventually die

Thanks I saw one yesterday and its only 20$so after I switch out the sand to a plant safe kind I will purchase that. So do you know of a red color Plant that I would be able to grow in my Tank? I have this real pretty Fake blood red plant but I was thinking of growing a real one. Also can Bamboo be fully submerged, if not how much of it has to be out of water? Thanks for everything!

well, since i haven't seen any pictures of your tank i'm going to make the assumption it doesn't have that many plants, compared to mine lets say.
In my tank i'm currently using a a Hydor Koralia Nano which is perfect for a 29, they provide a great amount of flow, without pushing everything around. You should be able to get one for $20 to $25. Make sure your looking for the nano though, anything more than that would be too strong, unless you had a lot of plants.. then you could buy the Koralia 1. Anything higher than that is far too strong for a 29 gallon.

the 29 which has pistle tail tetras, rasboras, a betta, plattys, rapheal fish, bumble bee catfish, kuhli loaches, and the roseline barb. so what should i get for a stronger flow. Also is it true that you should move your decos around every few months or is that not a must just a suggestion?

Hey i went to one of your threads where you show the progress of your 29. It looks great! I was wondering about putting a wave maker in mine to up the flow but would that be harmful to my fish? I read somewhere you can have a strong flow as long as it dosnt travel through the whole tank, meaning that there are places in the tank where the fish can rest. I wanted to also up the flow beacuse my kuhli loaches and roseline barb like to swim agains currents. The filter I have is aqua tec 20-40 gallon.(hang on the back filter). Thanks for your time
