    Hey Bill
Never tried it. But I have seen other TPT members who did. I don't recall who though. What do you have in mind?

Xue, have you had any experience growing Eriocaulons emersed? They look very interesting and might be worth a try.

    What do I owe you?
    You are so kind.
Am very interested in your sunroom / greenhouse. It is so important to get it right.
As for using only only 1/4" of water with emersed Crypts, it may not work for us in the Midwest. We need to heat our plants. I use 78F. A heater must be used in water almost to the top of the substrate. If you have any ideas, let me know. I was thinking about using those heaters they place under reptile and amphibian tanks. I used them years ago but the heat is not consistent.
The bulliosa that had the center melt out is growing fast and even has a pup growing at the side of the pot. These things are so resilient.
    Have a great weekend, Bill

Xue, if I were to try one of the ADA substrates for my blackwater type emersed Crypts, which would you suggest? I would like to mix it in with worm castings and screened MGOTS and red clay powder.
Also, have you ever tried water filtered through peat for blackwater emersed Crypts? What is your opinion?
    Thanks, Bill

Xue, I noticed the Rosanervigs also. Thanks for watching out for me. I told him I wanted them, if he could figure out a safe way to get them here.
Also, am taking the second set of pictures of the schulzei and bullosa which melted down. The schulzei has another new little leaf. The bullosa's first leaf will be over 2" long. They are growing rapidly emersed.
I will try to start a thread with pictures.
Your idea to start a melted Crypt thread should be pretty wild!! People will "see", via photos, that melting is usually just a temporary condition. Hopefully, Crypt people will add to the thread? We can take the mystery out of melting Crypts.
Also, you told me to contact Gordon re: griffithii. I did and he does have one......if it is truly a griffithii.
Let me know your thoughts and maybe a good title for the thread. I thought of using, "melted Crypts..up from the ashes!!" or "Crypts, taking the mystery out of melting!". Any other suggestions? We need something catchy.

Xue, the plants arrived Monday about 1:30. It was about 95F. All were in perfect condition. Thank you so much.
The schulzei and bullosa that melted their center leaves have grown new leaves about half an inch high in three days. Wow, hard to believe!
The yuji is super huge. At first glance, I thought it was an emersed sword plant when I opened the box.
Keep on saving more wide-leafed Crypts for me. I prefer to wait awhile to get another shipment. Just let me know when you have something nice ready. I will forward the money for them as you gather them up. You can hold them and ship them together when we have a few selected.
Do you have any 'Rosanervigs' that will be available. How do you maintain the nice striping?
Thanks again. Have a great 4th. Stay in touch, Bill

Xue, what do you know about Bucephalandra culture? Are they hard to grow? Do you ever offer them. I see Speedie has a few for sale. I would like to try a couple. If you also have some, I could buy from you.
By the way, the Crypts you sent are sure looking great. The schulzei and ferruginea have fantastic markings on their leaves.

Wow! Plants came in yesterday. They look great and are now planted and in their tanks. The keep are the only ones being grown emersed at this time. The others barely their leaves under water. As they get established in, I will slowly get them growing emersed. If I set up a Submersed tank, I will use the newer offspring to landscape it.
I actually got tired of potting and labeling Crypts last night. It felt good!!
Xue, thanks so much for your help and friendship and.........let me know when you get new plants available.
I will stay in touch. Hope you do the same.
