Wow, I've been gone for so long! I put my tanks on the back burner while I finished going back to school to get my bachelors and masters degrees to be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, aka psychotherapist). I'm now working on getting my internship license.

So I have a little more free time to clean up my tanks. The tanks still running are my 90g, 75g, two 29g, 8g shrimp tank and 5g shrimp tank. I also have a 10g holding tank running.

My tanks aren't anything close to what they once were. No CO2 or ferts anymore. Algae galore! LOL! I mostly have Anubias (from mini to giant with rhizomes as thick as my fingers), Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Bronze', and Hygrophila corymbosa ‘Kompakt’ (compact hydro). Nevertheless, I still enjoy my tanks, and given that many of the fish are around 10 years old, they're at least healthy.

I'm not sure how many of my old friends are still around, but I wish you guys well! I wish my new friends well, too! 😊

Wow, school has really kept me busy! I'm not doing as well with keeping up with my tanks as I'd like, but I haven't had any major catastrophes either.

I let the plants in my 75g grow so much that my fish barely had room to swim. I yanked out most of my plants, but then didn't have time to replant them so I lost a bunch. I still have starters to get things going again.

I've just bought an automatic fish feeder that I hope I can use to automatically dose ferts because I haven't kept up with dosing.

One of my Summer classes has ended so I'm hoping to have a little more time to keep up with things. I hope everyone's doing well!

Hi everyone! This is my last week before school starts up! I'm very excited!

I'm keeping up with my tanks, but my time on here has obviously been limited. I'm not going away! I just don't have as much time as I used to have now that I'm back home with my kids and all.

Tanks are doing well! I finally got my Victor regulator on my 75g setup. I ran out of CO2 for my 75g for a week so I have a little BBA trying to grow, but with the SAEs in the tank, it's not getting very far. I have decided to get a spare CO2 cylinder to have on hand so when one runs out, I can swap it out immediately which will give me more time to get the empty cylinder refilled without any urgency.

I'm winning the war over the BBA and Clado in my 29g. Once I got the CO2 raised high enough in that tank, I spent a day scrubbing every inch of the tank to dislodge the BBA and Clado from the driftwood, plumping and all. I wasn't sure if my fish would survive it given how bad the water became! I then cleaned BOTH of my canisters (wow, they were FULL of BBA that I had scraped off from inside the tank), did a good vacuum (no plunging), and a water change. I also followed up with massive Excel treatments. You know how you're supposed to only use 3x the normal dosage for algae treatment? Multiply that by 4, and that's what I did. Filters turned off. I kept dosing and dosing and dosing. Waited 20 minutes or so, and then did a water change. Filters back on. That really hit the algae hard without harming the fish in the tank (even Amanos were unharmed).

Unfortunately, I haven't been as good about dosing the ferts so my plants aren't growing as well as they could, but they're doing fine for the most part.

I have *25* new PMs to go through so if you sent me a PM, please don't feel I'm ignoring you if I don't reply right away. I had no idea I had that many stacking up! I'll get to them asap.

I hope you are all doing well! Wish me lots of luck in school this Summer. I'm taking 6 hours with another 15 hours scheduled for this Fall. It's been a long time since I've been in school so I'm a bit apprehensive, but I'm also really looking forward to it.

My computer monitor went out! I'm on a spare computer, but I don't have all my info on this one, and the battery is dead so I can't take it anywhere. If I don't answer your PM right away, this is why. As soon as my computer is back from the shop, things will be back to normal.
