    Hi ,

    Could you advise or help me to check why I can see the post new thread but not able to do that on the selling forum?

    Hi Laura, does Tank Profiles or whatever still exist? It used to be linked under our name in posts, different from our gallery, profiles with tank info and comments. If so where's the link? This place is so weird now! What about my seller score?

    Hi LauraLee,

    Hey I really appreciate the info you've been sending my way!

    So all my plants (of differing kinds) look kind of "burnt" not sure how to describe it. So I did all the tests you suggested and here's the results:

    ph = 8.3
    Ammonia = 0.25
    Nitrite = 0.05
    Nitrate = 60ppm

    not know which of these (if any of these) are making the plants look kind of "burnt" I did a partial 1/3 water change.

    just for added info, I have one 23w 6500K CFL and one 23w 5000K CFL both hanging 7inches above the water surface. The lights are on for about 9hours a day.

    Hope this is enough info for you to help me know what to change....

    Thanks again! Todd

    Yes, there are quite a few Betta species INCLUDING Betta splendens that can be housed in community tanks with appropriate tankmates- however, I would not personally house any of them with cichlids. You could try it- but definitely have a Plan B ready in case either species happens to decide the other is competition.

    I need some beta advice. I know that betas can be a bit aggressive, not to mention fin nippers. But I only know about Beta splendens. I've never owned a beta simplex, or other, more rare, beta. Are ALL betas (currently known) aggressive, or fin-nippers? Or are there some less aggressive betas out there, that I might be able to house in a community tank? I'm specifically referring to trying to house a betta (or two, or three, or..?) with german blue rams, or possibly angels. I'm still setting up my 75 gallon tank, and I'm not certain as to what fish I want to house. Thank you for your time.
