Hi Diana, I just wanted to say thanks for writing such a great book. I have learned so much and I am not even done. I have however started a dirted tank as of yesterday and I am going with the fishless cycle also using a emperor 300 filter that has been running on my 110g with the intent of using it to start my 30g dirt tank, that should give it a good kickstart. anyway thanks again you seem to pay a lot of attention to this forum I see many of your posts helping anybody you can. keep up the great work
Hi Diana, I just read a post of yours from 2012 regarding a fishless cycle to start a tank. I did do this years ago on a non planted tank with an Aquaclear filter ( it was a science project for my daughter)but am getting ready to start a new 46 gallon bow front which I will plant on eco complete fine substrate. I also will have a new XP3 filter. Any /all suggestions are appreciated! I do have some established media but it is in my Aquaclear 50 which is filtering my non planted 25 gallon. That tank has small river stones on the bottom. Can I simply put some of these in a stocking and place them in the tank during the fishless ammonia cycle? Thanks!
My daughter in Alamo, CA is doing a complete upgrade to her swimming pool and surrounds. She is busy at her job and asked me to contact someone who could help with an upgraded design. She currently has the pool and hot tub lined with lava rock and wants to get rid of that with a more beautiful design. If you are interested please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 831-372-7666 (I'm in Pacific Grove). Thanks, ...Ron
