Skiptons Pet Center by New England Medical Center (downtown off MASS Ave) is a nice local one in Boston. The area is kind of beat and not very safe but they have a nice selection.

Actually it's a lot closer to Boston Medical center. I go there every now and then to check out the new stuffs.

They have the best, I mean THE BEST customer service. Most of the time some one would ask me if I need help with anything. I've been to tropic isle, petco and petsmart many times, none of them ever offer to help me. The down side is the price, they are very pricy. Once I went there they were selling the gold barbs more than twice of the price at petco.

Yah, but you are paying not only for the fish but also for the service a higher quality.
