Russ carries a nice variety of fish including some of the odd species. Freshwater, brackish and saltwater. Russ even carries some of the hard to find species.

This is a pretty good store. Russ has a lot more than the typical run of fish including flag fish, several types of shrimp including bamboo, ghost, long arm Amano, etc. He also gets some unusual plants in from time to time, mostly I think traded in by hobbiests. For anyone in western MA it's worth a trip. He also maintians a big planted diplay tank that's been up about 5-6 years. Very unusual for a pet shop to do this.
It's a great place. |

I've been to Fish Frenzy, Tropical Isle, PJ's on Route 1, Dave's Soda and Pet City, and I find the quality and variety of species of fish tanks the best at Exotic Fish & Pet. The selection of dry goods may not be the biggest, but it's good enough.
The freshwater plants are all priced at $3.99, I believe. And extra points because they're the only ones who carry more than just ghost shrimp, if at all. (Well, Petco has bamboo shrimp, but they don't feed them enough that they're having to scrape at the driftwood and substrate. D= ) I got some cherries today. =D Next week I may get some bumblebees. There was also a mudskipper! I'm just mentioning 'cos they're cool. |
